This concept often comes up. But is it rational? Are surgeons said to be
practising their skill because they have a selfish desire to develop new
procedures and teach others about them in case they themselves fall in need
of an operation? Are physicians said to be practising medicine so that they
can get appropriate pharmaceuticals to deal with any problems they may have?
I think not - it is commonly said and thought that these two professions
have a self**less** desire to help other people. They are known as "caring
professions".

Therefore why not can the same be said of cryonicists?
