Subject: Cryonics contest garners massive publicity

The New Scientist contest is garnering MASSIVE
publicity. This URL

http://news.google.com/news?q=cryonics&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&scoring=d

from a search of google news headlines shows that at
least dozens--and possibly hundreds--of newspapers are
running a short, generic article on the contest.

The timing of this contest is perfect, with respect to
the recent Ted Williams story.

Kudos to CI, Robert Ettinger, and New Scientist, and
espcially to Ted Williams' family for causing all
this.

As we all noticed during the height of the Willams
story, cryonics evokes strong feeling of dislike, and
often even revulsion, in what seems to be the majority
of people. But most births are difficult, and I have
to think that all this publicity is going to
precipitate some social change.
