This would overturn the long-enshrined Church-Turing thesis, and provide another argument for many-worlds or something similar. Many other profound implications--all depending on whether it holds up, of course. See http://www.newsfactor.com/perl/story/19601.html. Is it true that a quantum computer is working on your particular problem even if you observe it to be turned "off" in your universe, because the computer is "on" & running your program in parallel ones? Seems like it could have practically "oracular" powers, if it can efficiently solve problems previously "proved" to have been unsolvable on realistic time scales. Mark Plus It's not "religious" or "science fictional" if you can do it? _________________________________________________________________ Join the world s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=20281
