Hi everybody!

Some comments and answers:

First, perhaps I should have explained it, but I have extreme
doubts that cryonic suspension will EVER become useless or
of no interest to anyone. Yes, we will at some time cure any
condition, including our present worst one, aging. But again
at any time in the future there will be conditions which
we do not know how to treat or cure. Once we have the idea
of suspension then we'll find uses for it ever after. These
comments are for Scott Badger, who seems to feel it will
someday become obsolete. I very much DO NOT AGREE.

Second, I'll explain a bit more just what I'm saying. If someone is
suspended to await a future cure for their criminal tendencies.
If they try to escape by suspension, they will find the doctors
waiting for them on their revival, ready to cure them as before.
No one could escape treatment for their crimes by suspension.

In practise, for the sake of freedom, such people might be
given the option of permanent exile from the human race
rather than curing them of their criminal tendencies. Just as
societies now differ on just what is a serious crime (don't
visit Islamic states!) there would be similar differences.
Suspension does not necessarily change a society to become
more lenient (I personally think it would, but that's a whole
different question).

Finally, for those who think I am only talking about the present
technology of suspension, I am discussing here the use of any
way to keep someone in storage indefinitely: chemical, physical,
by means of computers, etc etc.

Best wishes and long long life for all,

                    Thomas Donaldson
