X-Message-Number: 20327 Date: Thu, 17 Oct 2002 09:20:49 -0400 From: Thomas Donaldson <> Subject: CryoNet #20317 - #20326 Hi! Some comments for Redin, Price, and Badger: 1. If cryonics does not eventually work, I think many people would be disappointed and consider that it had failed. And yes, failure can be helpful too, but not in the sense intended by those who failed. I was not considering failure of cryonics in the sense you meant it. 2. For M. Price: strictly speaking you are correct. However I'd be willing to make a small bet that when electronic or other means of storage become frequently used, they will be referred to as cryonic suspension, too. 3. For Scott Badger: yes, organic devices are subject to lots of errors. But funny thing, anything we make will be subject to errors: electronic, mechanical, mathematical... it is the nature of the universe, not just organic things that they are subject to mistakes, errors, and confusion. We will not free ourselves of these problems merely by changing our forms. But still, I apologize for misunderstanding you. Best wishes and long long life for all, Thomas Donaldson Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=20327
