X-Message-Number: 2038 From: "Mark B. Kaminsky" <fasfax!mbk> Subject: CRYONICS Alcor on Page 1 of Boston Sunday Globe Date: Mon, 29 Mar 93 12:02:47 EST Cyonics made the FRONT PAGE with color photo of the March 28, 1993 edition of The Boston Sunday Globe - Boston's leading newspaper with a Sunday circulation of 812,021. The front page color photo is of Derek Ryan taken from above in front of 3 '"patient care bay" cylinders' with the ALCOR logo on them. The Headline is "Cryonics draws a frozen few in New England" The story continues on page 18 (using a full half of that page) and has a black and white photo of Tony Reno. The story was pretty balanced and quoted Tony Reno ("a software engineer from Pepperell, is only 33 but he's taking no chances"), David Greenstein ("a 55-year-old Framingham optometrist"), Charles Platt ("science fiction writer"), Jim Yount ("of the American Cryonics Society"), and Robert Ettinger ("74, head of the Cryonics Institute") in favor; and Art Caplan ("director of the University of Minnesota Center for Biomedical Ethics"), Gregory Fahy ("Jerome Holland Laboratory of the American Red Cross"), James Southard ("biochemist at the University of Wisconsin"), and Robert McNally ("biomedical engineer and Cryolife senior VP") against. If nobody else does so in the next couple of days, I will type in the whole article. Mark B.
