saw this site while browsing and thought it interesting...

They manufacture a insulating blanket (which perhaps could be worked into 
dewar/cryostat manufacture? 

I have no real idea if this is "better" than the existing materials...perhaps 
someone with knowledge could comment)

Interestingly it is very heat resistant, they give examples of applying a 
blowtorch for 5 hours and having the other side be
cool to the touch. 


Check it out...now imagine making a dewar with this in the construction and some
kevlar wrapping to provide kinetic impact protection...how much safer could we 
make them?
what would happen to todays dewars if a fire burned in the storage area?
