Subject: Steve Bridge visits Creekside/Ventureville

Steve Bridge, a former president of Alcor and a good friend of David Pizer came
by to visit us last night. Trudy had affectionately "strangled" Dave when she
found out it might not be a definite thing that Steve would be coming at 7 for
dinner! But to our relief a little past the hour our special guest arrived at
the doors of the main lodge building.

He warmly greeted everyone and was quite taken by the design of the place. It
was good to see old friends(David had been his vice president) reunited. The
sun had set by this time, but still Dave and I gave him a tour of the main lodge
and the cabins.

I took a photo of the two of them while they were in the cryonics library. A
big smile crossed Steve's face when Dave showed him a very early cryonics
booklet which Steve had authored many years ago. When Steve asked if he should
send his extra cryonics materials here to add to the library, Dave said "by all
means please do!" And that applies to the rest of you out there in cyberspace,
too.

We ate in the dining room a delicious italian dinner Trudy and her sister had
prepared. While eating Steve showed us pictures of his two cute young
daughters. Other subjects discussed were the prodigious amounts of spaghetti
I'm able to eat! lol

After dinner we sat down in the lodge great room and I got to listen to Steve
and David talk about the past and present of cryonics. As they went down memory
lane I could tell they were proud of the things they had accomplished.

The next morning I gave Steve a tour of the stables. He asked me if the words
on the side "bring your horse" actually lit up at night! I assured him we were
not going for the gaudy effect. Trudy and Lana have just finished varnishing
the wood and it truly is a sight to behold.

As we walked through the creekbed it gave us the opportunity to appreciate the
natural beauty of this heavily wooded area. Steve and I continued to be very
absorbed in the various things of interest to us.

It was a real pleasure to have Steve visit us. I had never met the man before,
but had read many of his articles in Cryonics magazine, and had seen him
interviewed for various t.v. shows. I found him to be a real gentleman and very
informative. I hope Steve will call on us again sometime soon.

best wishes,

John
