Subject: An internet/cable channel or infomercial to present our ideas?

I really like the idea of a transhumanist/cryonicist educational site either on
the internet or on cable. I realize an endeavor like this would take serious
funding, but considering some very expensive projects which are in the making
such as Timeship, perhaps the time has come for this one.

Another possibility would be to create an infomercial and run it late at night
and in the early morning. The Alcor Adventure or something produced just for
this project could be used. I realize some people might cringe at the use of
infomercials, but they do get the word out. We would need a presentation which
shows the proper respect for the subject and not something done with the usual
bombastic hucksterism used to sell egg cookers and the incredible array of free
accessories one gets with the order!

I think a thirty minute infomerical presentation could get some people to
seriously consider cryonics who otherwise would be unaffected by short news
stories about us done by the mass media. And it could cause many others to
realize we are to be taken seriously because we do have a leg to
scientific/philosophical leg to stand on. But again I realize it would take a
large sum of money to do.

Yvan, if it were my educational cable channel I would give you a weekly show to
"Harlan Ellison style" rant about whatever you felt like. Or I might make you
part of a talking heads panel composed of you, Mike Darwin and Tryvge Bauge! : )

best wishes,

John
