About Alan Mole's comments: First, on the unfortunately negative side, as I understand it you have to be of Dutch nationality to use the Dutch laws about euthanasia. It may be better to try to get euthanasia established in a US state --- like Washington. Due to the US Federal government not seeing the point, this may be difficult. Given that cryonicists can have some kind of arranged "death" (though it isn't really death!) it makes sense to start thinking about how to do it well. So Mole's questions are good questions. If we can get cryonic suspension accepted as a way to "die" by those who do not believe in the ideas of cryonics, then we can hope for such research. One fundamental difference between our beliefs and the general beliefs, even among doctors, is that we have a notion of death which differs from the general notion. Even Mole's questions presuppose our notion rather than the common one. Best wishes and long long life for all, Thomas Donaldson Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=20585
