Of course I understand that hydrogen fuel cells might somewhat improve the 
overall pollution picture, if the central plants providing the energy to 
produce hydrogen are more efficient (cleaner) than e.g. auto engines--better 
to burn oil or coal or gas at a central location rather than in autos. But I 
haven't seen any convincing data on this.
