Subject: Smallpox and Cryonics

Something that has occurred to me:
According to www.ideosphere.com, there is a slightly
better than 50% chance that Smallpox will get released
again before 2010. The US government has run exercises
that depict a scenario in which 1/3 of the US public
dies of Smallpox.

Now, this is relevent to cryonics because if a
cryonicist dies of smallpox and was preserved, their
body would contain the active virus-the only way to
really get rid of smallpox in a body is complete
cremation. If Smallpox reappears, I can believe that
there may be a move to try to eradicate the disease
again. Even if there isn't, I can believe that some
jurisdictions might have a rather different attitude
towards a cyonically suspeneded Smallpox patient than
say a cryonically suspended AIDS patient.

Anyhow, I think this is something worth some
discussion(I haven't seen it here before but I don't
alway monitor this list closely).
