It isn't the least costly choice, a Cryonics Institute whole body cryopreservation is. http://www.cryonics.org However neuropreservation does enable the brain to receive the best possible cryoprotection, whereas preserving the whole body requires some compromise. Also, vitrification of the brain is claimed by Alcor to be achievable, whereas they cannot as yet apply their process to the whole body. CI do not at present offer any vitrification, but their cryobiologist is working on it. As with any competing organisations, there will be times when one or other is "in front" of technological advance. My advice to everyone considering signing for cryopreservation is to read as much as you can, read all the cryonics service providers' web sites and then make your choice and stick with it. I also recommend the Yahoo Group "Considering Cryonics". Join it on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ConsideringCryonics Look at the group's archives and you will find quite a bit about cloning questions and answers. -- Sincerely, John de Rivaz: http://John.deRivaz.com for websites including Cryonics Europe, Longevity Report, The Venturists, Porthtowan, Alec Harley Reeves - inventor, Arthur Bowker - potter, Holistics, de Rivaz genealogy, Nomad .. and more Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=20787
