I'm not trying to be a pessimist, but I don't think these ideas of saving
species by freezing them which have been widely publicized for some time
now, are of any great benefit for cryonics.  They are promoting the
saving from extinction of the DNA, in order to have the future benefits
of a varied gene pool.  That is very different from, and not necessarily
related to the saving of an individual animal's life.  It is completely
distinct from promoting the potential immortality of a human mind and
identity.
