Yes, I read it some years ago. From what I remember, the novel looked at
many and varied hypotheses about the possibility of immortality. I enjoyed
most of it, but as, towards the end, it tried to get into areas concerning
the ultimate fate of the universe it seemed less convincing. But I seemed to
recall that I always wanted to know what was going to happen next, which is
always the sign of a good novel.

Another one you may find enjoyable is Linda Nagata's "Tech Heaven".
