To Verbeke David
You obviously don't know the situation at all,
so let me fill you in on some hard facts:

Cryonisists are faced with the same situation as those in favour of human
cloning,
how to get respect in a conservative world that is afraid of what is new and
different and likely to try to outlaw minorities not based on the older
established systems of morality.
The Jehovas witnesses and the Mormons have been through this situation
already,
and the Christians were turned into martyrs for centuries before they became
established.

I have been through the same myself, and it was only my very good name
recognition, good standing and many media contacts in Colorado that saved
the day, (something I had built up over the years through my Boulder Polar
Bear Club and its large annual New Year's Day icedip, celebration and Winter
Carnival.)

The town board in the town of Nederland Colorado tried to ban cryonics and
threatened to thaw out my grandfather back in 1994. The population was on my
side, and the town board was replaced at the next election.
Since then we have had no problem with the town board.
Last year the Colorado state legislature voted on whether or not to declare
March the 9th Frozen Dead Guy Day. All the Democrats voted in favour and all
the Republicans voted against.
Since the Republicans had a small minority, the resolution did not pass.
But what other legislature anywhere has come as close to establish a
Cryonics Day?
For the last two years the local Chamber of Commerce have organized The
Frozen Dead Guy Festival, it gives me both income and positive support
including a lot of positive attention from world wide media.

I for one am very pleased with the local support I have in Colorado.
I think the population in Colorado is much more in favour of cryonics than
the population in California and Boston!
And that Cryonics as a result of my efforts has a better future in Colorado
than it has most other places.
It is much better to have local support, from the media, population,
chamber of commerce and politicians, than not to have such support.
Without such support cryonics will get no where.
The Christians in order to got established took over the pagant
celebrations.
So do we have to, if we are to succeed.
So just get used to it: The Catholics have their carnival,
and now cryonics does do.
The Frozen Dead Guy festival is the Mardi Grass of cryonics.

Sincerely,

Trygve Bauge
