Friends,

Some years back I suggested that the current primitive
cryoprotectant delivery technique--whole body flushing
and simple diffusion--might be replaced in future by
cell-specific methods--each cell type specifically
targeted with its own optimal custom-tailored mix of
cryoprotectant.  As a delivery system, I suggested
custom liposomes with surface proteins matched to the
target cell type.
