Can someone tell me how to get short term health insurance for people who are unemployed? I'd like to be able to keep getting my chronic depression treated while looking for a new job.) >>>> You can get a 6 month tourist card to Mexico, and get on the public Mexican insurance, IMSS, right away, although some aspects of coverage (e.g., certain preexisting conditions) do not kick in until as much as 2 years later. The tourist card cost $22 for 6 months, and the insurance itself costs about $20/month. Private insurance can be had for as little as $45/mon. We in the USA think we have it so great for medical care, but I have serious doubts about that. --Randy Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=21457
