Dear Rudi, What a great idea! As newly elected President of Washington DC
area Life Extension Society I have a special craving for such a map. We are a

group which operates very informally for the purpose of aiding anyone interested
in cryonics, regardless of ALCOR or CI membership or any membership for that
matter. The whole point is to be helpful in an emergency and to connect people
to other people so that something gets done with respect to the wishes of the
person with the need. I am currently trying to simply develop a new list of
our members, past members, potential members and so forth, including some

indication of what they would want done in dire cicumstances. Despite the more
than 20 million people who must live within 2 hours driving distance of DC, we
have no real current capability, and, to my knowledge, not one case of
successful suspension support to our credit. Part of this problem is simply

inadequate connectivity within the cryonic community. We need to know who we
are,

where we are, what we want to receive and what we are able and willing to give
in
assistance to others. Safeguarding anonymity is an issue, I grant, and i am
willing to support this principle but those so safeguarded should also realize
that they may be seriously jeopardizing their chances as well as undermining
the strength of the network.
I would welcome suggestions on how we should proceed in this important
matter. This is really a "summit" issue.
