Subject: more important risks

Now that SARS is waning, I hope I can get some advice on the more important
risks that Cryonicists should heed. Two of my good friends spent two months in
China at the height of the epidemic, and their daughter was quite worried about
them. I calculated for her that her chance of getting killed on the way to work
and back are much larger than the chance of her parents dying from SARS on any
given day.

While the data on SARS and on traffic deaths is extensive, so that I can
calculate probabilities, I find that I don't have enough information on other
causes of death. As a Cryonicist, my main worry is dying suddenly. I have taken
enough measures to ensure that my chances of dying in a traffic accident are
very low. I am already taking good measures nutritionally and exercise wise to
help ward off heart attacks.

Now I am at a loss on a decision on whether to invest in a defibrillator. Here
are the questions that I seek answers to.

Where can I find data that will allow me to calculate my chances of dying
suddenly from a heart attack, given my age, gender, and state of health?

What are the observed differences between mortality rates with and without
defibrillator at the homes of heart attack victims?

If I want to spend $2500 to decrease my chances of dying suddenly, is a
defibrillator the best investment?
