There is uranium enough for hundreds of years, and enough thorium for 

breeders for hundreds of thousands. And that's assuming we never get any from 
other 
planets, use fusion, etc.

There's plenty of energy and matter in the universe. The shortages are 

brainpower and the freedom to use it. (Oh, and tact, there's a shortage of tact:
that's why I never use any, in order to conserve our finite supply for future 

generations, who will of course live exactly as we do, use the same 
technologies, 
etc.)
