The summary of the lecture, which was given to the club for their promotions, is as follows: "Evidence for the materialist view of consciousness (the mind-body problem) will be examined, along with paradoxes that seem inherent in the materialist view. Implications of the promise of immortality by religions will be contrasted with the prosect of immortality through materialism.
