About 21ST CENTURY MEDICINE:

This is a corporation founded by Saul Kent to do research into several issues
important for cryonics suspension and immortalism generally. Currently the
people who will receive research grants are already chosen, and known to the
immortalist community and people who will not decide to spend their grants on
any matters which do not pertain to eliminating aging and improving cryonic
suspension. Saul's current plans are to limit the lower size of an investment
to $10,000 and solicitations for investment have begun.

Saul Kent himself has been involved in both subjects for many years. He may
be reached on:
			Saul Kent

			Riverside, CA 92504
			Phone: (909) 780-3252
			Fax: (909) 780-5758

Although the ultimate hope is to find commercial applications for these
techniques, that hope may well not be realized soon. For instance, several
lifespan experiments with different drugs are planned on mice; their outcome
will not be known until a minimum of 3 years have passed. The other experiments
may be completed as experiments before then, but the project will take much
longer than that to complete. It is likely that investors will be solicited
more than once to support this company before any concrete results (other than
scientific papers!) result from the work it underwrites.

If you wish to invest-contribute $10000 you may contact Saul at the numbers
listed. A group is forming now of those who may wish to invest-contribute
smaller amounts but that group is not far along. If you contact Saul expressing
interest in it, he will refer you to the persons involved.

If you sent your message out of interest in cryonic suspension, my personal
suggestion is to contact the ALCOR LIFE EXTENSION SOCIETY at 1-800-367-2228 to
receive information on arranging for your cryonic suspension. If you look
at Alcor closely, you will find a small group of people struggling to maintain
existing suspension patients and acquire more members. They will tell you
openly of the other groups independent of them; my personal opinion is that
they remain the best cryonic society available. Again, if you think that you
might SOMEDAY want to be suspended, my own strong advice would be to join such
a society NOW. Alcor has accepted last minute cases, but for quite a number
of reasons I feel that they should return to their old policy of refusing to
do so. 21ST CENTURY MEDICINE is formed to conduct research only.

Finally, if you believe such research is already going on, you need to become
informed of some sad truths. There are scientists involved with cryonics; but
the non-cryonicist authorities have proven not merely indifferent but hostile
to it. 21ST CENTURY MEDICINE was formed to support just that research which
no one outside cryonics is willing to do. No one in cryonics will claim that
their suspension methods are perfect and without a serious risk of failure;
most authorities OUTSIDE cryonics actively want that situation to continue.
Clearly if such research is not done, suspension methods will not improve,
and when it comes time for your personal suspension you will have to face that
disagreeable fact.
			Best wishes, and long life,
				Thomas Donaldson
