On **purely** humanitarian grounds, should we be considering cryonics at
all? Life is a mixture of "grounds".

Pure altruism can be just as damaging as unthinking self centeredness.
Consider a married couple - if each is 100% committed to please the other
then the result could be that they still fight to chose something to please
the other. For example they could end up fighting just as vigorously over
(say) which video to play because each desperately wants to play the one
that (s)he considers will please the other.

Total self disregard would surely result in anyone just sick, never mind
dying, self-exterminating so as not to be a burden on the rest.
