I agree. I don't really advocate pure altruism either, oneself is also 
important. But I would not want to feel that I could have saved someone but 
let them die. The choice one makes could possibly involve accepting a 
greater risk to oneself so that someone else could have a chance too. I 
could see myself making that choice, but as I noted before, the "someone 
elses" are by and large not interested anyway.
