Message: #2208 - Neuro Debate

As a neuro member of Alcor, I'm HOPING that reviving a neuro patient will be
more difficult than reviving a whole body patient. I'd be happy if all the
whole body patients are revived before the first neuro patient has cloning
procedures started. And then, I'd like to be among the last of the neuros to
be revived.

Some of my assumptions: 1. A rather sharp learning curve to accompany the
initial revivals followed by continued refinements. 2. Some damage to my
brain due to having been suspended under less than optimum conditions. 3. The
exchange of 10 to 30 years of exciting late 21st Century living for being
revived with perfected techniques. 4. More than 25% of my memories and
personality are retained in my newly cloned and connected self compared to less
than 10% retention if revived decades earlier. 5. In a world where economic and
social conditions permit whole body revivals to take place, the probability is
small that Alcor (or its decendant) will go defunct before getting to the
neuros.

As far as being in a new body that doesn't feel or work quite right, I don't
see it as a problem to initially feel uncomfortable and awkward in my new body.
Especially if, in time, it wouldn't feel awkward or uncomfortable, just
different.
