X-Message-Number: 22484 Date: Tue, 9 Sep 2003 11:14:55 -0700 (Pacific Daylight Time) From: "Billy H. Seidel" <> Subject: Charles Platt I can not let this go by without saying something. Today I read the message below from Charles Platt. I am shocked almost beyond belief. How could Alcor let a man like Charles Platt get away? Sure his actions have not always met with 100% approval ,but who among us has? I have not always agreed with Charles myself but, I have never seen Charles act in a destructive way towards cryonics. I believe he has given his best efforts and greatest attention to advancing Alcor during his very short period as COO. Charles's writing skills in developing the Alcor newsletter and his innovative ideas will be missed indeed. I just do not understand how Alcor management could not find a way to use this man's abilities. His presence in the cryonics arena just can not be replaced. I believe that Alcor has somehow missed the boat when a person of Charles Platt's talents and commitment to Alcor are allowed to just pass on by, and indeed, encouraged to stand aside. I felt a great loss as I read the message below. I would hope that others who feel the same way would stand up and be counted. We, in Alcor and the cryonics community, are just too small not to develop and use all of the available talents that we possibly can. Billy H. This is not connected in any way with the Larry Johnson affair, and does not mean that I am dissatisfied with Alcor's member services. It is a personal decision arising from personal issues. I will be happier if I am not closely involved with Alcor, and Alcor may be happier too. I do not expect to join any other cryonics organization. Please bear in mind that in any future utterances I may make, I will not be speaking on behalf of Alcor. --Charles Platt ************************** Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=22484
