Mike, my attempt to respond to your posting in the usual cryonet method 
failed. I still have a lot to learn about posting on cryonet! You are 
correct: a law is a freedom denied. Some "freedoms" should be denied such as 
the freedom to initiate non-consential force, the freedom to commit fraud and 
the freedom to violate contracts. Without those prohibitions I find it hard 
to imagine how a civilization could survive collapse. In my opinion a 
government that limited itself to preventing those three things could be 
supported with a small sales tax. Everything else, roads, schools, welfare, 
etc. should be the responsibility of the private sector. With all other taxes 
and regulatory cost gone, people and companies would be enormously more 
wealthy and able to pick up the cost of those "other things".
