So Canada is as close to utopia as it gets, eh! I suppose that depends on how
one defines "utopia". I haven't thought about that much but from what I have
picked up over the years it generally refers to a "perfect" society. I
suppose had the Nazi's won WWII and succeeded in exterminating all humans
considered undesirable, we would now be living in a Nazi "utopia"! You say
the free market is unnatural. That is untrue. From the dawn of civilization
humans have been trading with each other. That is natural. Unfortunately, the
rulers quickly discovered they could garner support from the parasites among
us in return for stealing loot from the basket of prosperity created by the
free market then redistributing some of it to the parasites. That evolved
into today's politicians who, like Mr. Wolf, seems to think people are like
small children who couldn't possibly run their own lives alone. They (the
politicians) think there is no facet of human activity that should be exempt
from their meddling. If governments limited themselves to enforcing
prohibitions on the three things I mentioned in message #22918 the market
would function quite nicely thank you. It would not be a "utopia" but we
would all be a lot richer...even though transit times on our roads might be
somewhat longer...a small price to pay for freedom and prosperity. By the
way, the alternative to a free market, taken to is extreme, was demonstrated
by th U.S.S.R. and is now on exhibit in North Korea and Cuba. Move there!!
