Subject: Cryonicist on ballot for President

Hi Cryofriends.

Thought you might like to know that Alcor member, Harry Braun, is on the ballot
in several states for president of the U.S.A.

If he wins I think cryonics will move along a little faster. Although I usually
don't discuss politics on this forum, I would like to say that I have known
Harry a long time and consider him a friend, I have no trouble to recommend that
everyone vote for him.

David

    Harry Braun for President

     A New Vision for America:

    Sustainable Prosperity Without Pollution

    October 21, 2003

    Analyst Harry Braun Enters

    New Hampshire Democratic Primary

While the Bush administration is focused on increasing America's addiction
to fossil and nuclear fuels, the existing field of Democratic candidates are
promoting to merely "conserve" the remaining fossil fuels by mandating
higher fuel efficiency standards for vehicles and appliances. In either
case, such policies are analogous to rearranging the deck chairs on the
    Titanic.

By contrast, Harry Braun is an analyst and author that over the past two
decades has refined a well-documented, multi-trillion dollar "Phoenix
Project" plan, a "transition of substance" that would fundamentally resolve
America's integrated problems by rapidly transforming the U.S. into a Saudi
Arabia-class energy superpower and exporter of solar hydrogen. The focus
needs to be on hydrogen because it is the only "universal fuel" that is
non-toxic, safer than gasoline, pollution-free and inexhaustible. Instead
of waiting for fuel cells, Braun's Phoenix Project calls for simply
modifying every existing vehicle (including aircraft, ships and trains) to
    use hydrogen fuel.

    American Windships

As Braun points out, energy policy profoundly impacts the economy, the
environment and U.S. foreign policy. As such, one of the most
strategically-important technologies that needs to be developed for
large-scale hydrogen production are Multi-Array "Windship" systems that can
be mass-produced in automotive, aerospace and shipbuilding industries like
the Liberty Ships of World War II. Windships will supercharge the economy
by making America energy independent of fossil and nuclear fuels by 2010.
While wind-hydrogen production systems can also be placed on land, the
large-scale deployment of Windships at sea will provide a critical sanctuary
for the fish and other marine organisms that are now in the final stages of
being driven into extinction by oil and chemical pollution and destructive
    fishing practices.

About 10 million one-megawatt wind-powered hydrogen production systems would
provide 100% of the current U.S. energy requirements (i.e., 100 quads) in
the form of electricity and hydrogen. Given that the wind energy conversion
systems are similar to automobiles and aircraft from a manufacturing
perspective, and given that over 15 million vehicles are manufactured in the
U.S. annually, it is clear that the 10 million wind units, which could be
placed on a million Windships, could easily be manufactured and installed by
2010. Millions of people would be employed in the process as urban air
pollution, oil imports, oil spills and the production of any additional
radioactive wastes would be eliminated. In addition, liquid hydrogen
pipelines can be engineered to transport electricity with virtually no
energy losses and will thereby eliminate the need for building any new
high-voltage electricity transmission lines across America's majestic
    vistas.

    Fair Accounting Act

The key to this "transition of substance" is to pass Fair Accounting Act
legislation outlined by Braun that will provide the necessary market
incentives for oil companies to invest in making America energy independent
of fossil and nuclear fuels with solar hydrogen. Because of the exponential
nature of the global environmental problems, Braun believes we are like
passengers on the Titanic, and there is only a limited amount of time to
    change course.

Harry Braun has also proposed "transitions of substance" in U.S. foreign
policy, education and universal health care, as well as "Arcologies" that
will help to eliminate urban sprawl and traffic congestion in America's
future urban areas. Details on these proposals can be found on the
    BraunforPresident.us website.

    Why Harry Braun

None of the other candidates for President have offered any new ideas that
would fundamentally resolve any of America's worsening energy, economic and
environmental problems. While any of the Democratic candidates would be a
dramatic improvement over the reckless domestic and foreign policies of
President Bush, that is not enough. Given the exponential nature of the
problems, it is "11:59" Spaceship Earth. As such, what is required is not
politics as usual, but a fundamental course change.

Once the America public becomes aware of how Braun's Phoenix Project
Windship plan can allow us to avoid the "exponential Icebergs" and provide
sustainable prosperity without pollution, the choice for Americans on
election day will be both easy - and profound.
