Ev Cooper, #23124, was the subject of a posting that was too long to include on
today's cryonet.

What a shame. It was absolutely fascinating. A marvelous story about how
cryonets got
going in this country.

Actually, it caused me to go to my files. Under "Free Reanimate", I found a
folder with a two page single spaced letter written to me on September 21,1965
by Ev Cooper which commenced:

"Thank you beyond words for the straightforward offer and your terrific attitude
toward helping out."

Included was a "freeze card" which was a form which I also have.

Then I have a second letter thanking me for "your subscription check and for
accepting LES
membership, and for giving us such solid support."

I had remembered being impressed back then by the people he referred me to.

"One of the bulwarks of the small group there is Prof. Feinberg, a gem of a
person, couldn't be better. Feinberg is in the Physics Department at Columbia
and this automatically means he has more than he can do to start with....He acts
as an advisor for LES/"

He then goes on to refer to others who had decided to form their own
organization.

I also have a lovely pamphlet in a rich tan paper with "Freeze. Wait.
Reanimate" on top, a line underneath that reads:"Information Toward The Possible
Extension of Your Life via Cryogenics" with a classical male nude filling the
cover beneath that.

I also have three issues of the "FREEZE-WAIT-REANIMATE" newsletter. Aug 1965,
Sept 1965, October 1965.

After I get my scanning machine and figure out how to attach my $800 Sony
digital camera to the computer without having to unplug so many things, I'd be
happy to share these materials with anyone who is interested. I didn't know
whether there is a "Cryonics Library" or "Archives" or not.

Even if this isn't much, it has given me a feeling of excitement and discovery.
I feel like I have a couple

real artifacts from the history of cryogenics. I think I like that term
"cryogenics". Why was it changed?
