Subject: On topic posts, endorsment of Potvin website, Cryonics policies for
2003.

Hello, Dear Cryoneters!

Rick Potvin has kindly emailed me privately regarding the Cryonet Cafe
website reference he posts periodically here on Cryonet.

Rick is an ALCOR member who has made available a forum for topics and threads
which would cause "information pollution" if continued on Cryonet, but are
still relevant to the cryonics oriented posters.

I have just checked this site out, and I wanted to post that the format is
excellent, and that Rick Potvin has indeed provided a wonderful service which
will enable us to keep Cryonet at least nominally on topic.

So, if you have not got enough of Jerry Searcy's libertarian observations and
discussions, or the James and Charles global warming wars, you can go to the
Potvin site and get more. And the threads are nicely arranged, with each
topic having well done and accurate headings.

Great job, Rick!

Now, to get back to some topics that should be burning up the space on

Cryonet, like whether the CI settlement with Michigan was a triumph or involved
an
unacceptable level of capitulation to Michigan regulators.

Or when the next cryonics event will take place, who will sponsor it, who
will attend, and can you afford to go.

Or the reason your sister who is a fairly rational and intelligent and highly
educated person does not consider signing up for cryonics. Yea, damn right
this is personal. My wonderful and non-signed sister Trudi is the reference
here. And my wife Dawn.

Or why cryonics organizations don't make it more affordable for us to

cryogenically preserve our pets. (Boy, is THIS an emotional hot button!) Would
this
make a difference in signups? Absolutely! Probably starting with my wife

Dawn. Her separate life insurance is already in place, and being paid for, for
several years. A matter of paperwork, motivation, and ideologies....

Or how we can move from maybe 1000 cryonicists on the planet to a minimal
number of 100,000 which will give us some credibility, research funds, and
economy of scale.

I am pleased to announce that Dawn (my wife, administrative assistant, joy of
my life, and unlimited partner) and I have written a total of 69 cryonics or
cryonics related NEW policies in 2003.

Given the net increases at CI and Alcor, this means, at the risk of tooting

my own horn, that we have perhaps 70 or 80 percent of the WORLD market share of
cryonics policies written in the last few years. Those of you with a policy
through me should be rather proud of this figure. I confess, I am.

Thanks to all for your continued and continuing support. I promise you that
my intention is to work even harder this year to help promote cryonics, life
extension, and preservation of individual lives.

Warmly and Sincerely Yours, For Centuries,

Rudi Hoffman CFP
