Subject: CRYONICS.POITICS Fund Guidelines

I have received an irritable letter from a board member asking to know
what Alcor should do when the city of Riverside shuts down the building
for code violations. Would I put the patients out on the street?

This was in response to my last posting, which suggested that Patient
Care Fund guidelines might preclude using much or any of the fund for
purchasing a new building.

Well, clearly, if the board feels that an immediate move is the only
good option, and if they want to use money from the Patient Care Fund,
the answer is very simple. By a two-thirds vote, they can choose to
modify the Patient Care Fund guidelines. Certainly I think this would
be better than trying to bend the existing rules. WHen an organization
indulges in rule-bending, this tends to undermine people's confidence.
