Subject: R. Potvin Blasts CryoNet and K. Brown

Shortly before taking advantage of CryoNet's hospitality by posting his
latest advertisement for "Cryonics Cafe" on CryoNet (#23943), Rick Potvin
blasted CryoNet and its administrator Kevin Brown in several messages on
his "Cafe." I am copying them here as I think it is important that this
attitude not go unnoticed by cryonicists and others who have appreciated
CryoNet over the years:

I'll be pushing for the end of Cryonet as we've known it.

I've just had a series of email exchanges with Kevin Brown. I'll
explain more in coming days but for now, I'll just get this thread started.
The bottom line is, is that I'll be recommending that people never post
anything to Cryonet ever again, except for links to their own sites, like I
do with Cryonics Cafe. I hope people take my advice and I hope it's the end
of Cryonet as we've known it.

Brown refuses to delete or even encrypt posts by request of the poster.

Brown will leave anything, even damaging personal insults, on
Cryonet. He refuses to delete anything even at the request of the original
poster. I think that his policy sucks bigtime. I think he's dangerous
because he refuses to negotiate on this point. To me, it reflects a sort of
sociopathic attitude.

CryoRing will replace CryoNet.

I'll be working on a concept that will allow cryonicists to post
their ideas without submitting them to the control of Kevin Brown. ... I
recommend nobody post anymore content to Cryonet-- only links. The best
place to post, right now, as an alternative, is this forum, Cryonics Cafe.

If anyone thinks I'm blowing hot air, take a look at where you'll all end up.

I really do think we've reached the end of Kevin Brown's
imagination. Cryonet is cooked. I can feel the heat and the burning rubber.
The flames are licking the sides of his server and Brown himself is getting
toasted. Some of you may think I'm blowing hot air but here's where we're
all going to end up migrating to-- to because you'll be forced, but because
you'll want to. ... Anything we can do to help cryonicists migrate from the
stultifying incendiary air of Cryonet, which is now regarded as an
historical junkheap, ... is fine with me. Join with me in ending Kevin
Brown's control of cryonics media. If you don't, I will.
