X-Message-Number: 24294 From: Tim Freeman <> Date: Fri, 25 Jun 2004 06:42:52 -0700 Subject: Suicide prevention Occasionally people get depressed and commit suicide, and it seems to me that cryonics organizations should get involved in trying to prevent this scenario if the person involved is signed up for cryonics. However, I don't recall seeing pointers to suicide counselors in cryonics literature or in sign-up materials, or other visible things to deter suicide. Is this an important omission, or am I just incorrectly grasping the scope of what a cryonics organization should do? Just to clarify my situation, I am not presently contemplating suicide and I don't know anybody who is presently contemplating suicide. -- Tim Freeman GPG public key fingerprint ECDF 46F8 3B80 BB9E 575D 7180 76DF FE00 34B1 5C78 Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=24294
