X-Message-Number: 24395 Date: Thu, 15 Jul 2004 07:54:47 -0700 (PDT) From: Doug Skrecky <> Subject: Aging: The Reality (Journal of Gerontology: June 2004) [Stephen Cole has sent out this email clearing up a few matters to those who are interested.] It is true that I was fired from the GB Data, Inc. Advisory Board by Mr. Glen Braswell back in 1997 after making too much noise about what I considered to be their fraudulent marketing practices. However, I continued my relationship with their former Editor-in-Chief, Mr. David Steinman, even to this day. David was a full-time employee, who was fired about the same time along with another of his "Scientific Advisors," whom I really liked. David went on to found his own publishing company. Even Mr. Braswell's long-time secretary was fired by him around this time. It was really an oddly-run company with a capricious and dictatorial CEO at the top. I had no idea at the time how bad things were until a lot more information came out during a Congressional investigation, including the fact that Braswell had served time in Federal prison. I assure you that I have been on the UCLA Westwood campus teaching every month for the last ten years. My "" E-mail stopped working along with our www.grg.org website while our ISP (dot5hosting.com) is in the process of reconfiguring its servers. They told me yesterday that our site was supposed to be up today, but it's still not yet available. I will keep you informed when it's back up. ...feel free to forward this E-mail to the Cryonet List, if you feel that would help to clarify things. BTW, my paper published in the Journal of Gerontology: Biological Sciences is now out... http://biomed.gerontologyjournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/59/6/B579 Sincerely yours, Steve Coles Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=24395
