The strides made may have nothing to do with preventing mechanical damage. I
am still  looking for evidence that ice crystals actually cut membranes. Has
it occured to someone that the reason it is so difficult to recover frozen
human organs is because no one really knows what is going on. That all the
research is based on out dated theories. Vitrification has nice ring to it.
But that may be about it.
