Subject: stability

It is inherently obvious that stability of the political/economic

environment is fundamental to cryonics success. One thing that has amazed me
in the
discusion of alternates to oil is a far easier path than that which has been

proposed. Brazil in the 70's mandated that all its cars burn ethanol. Ethanol
can also be used in PEM fuel cells (a technology that is finally being

perfected). Further, the efficiency of ethanol production has brought the cost
down to ~$0.30/gal, with feed stocks of nearly any organic substance. We

already have the infrastructure to service it. Making oil worthless would
realign
the current oil dominated power base, and defund a majority of militants
(for a while).
