    Alcor considers itself a "full service" organization because it is
currently the only organization that provides in-house standby,
stabilization, transport, perfusion, cooling, and long-term care.  In
particular, the stabilization provided by Alcor consists of mechanical
cardiopulmonary support and a sophisticated medication protocol with the
goal of preserving brain viability by present-day criteria after the heart
stops.  The stabilization phase is considered crucial to the potential
survivability of the patient by Alcor personnel and its medical and
scientific advisors. Soon, Alcor will extend full standby benefits to all of
its U.S. and Canadian based members as part of their standard membership
package. No other organization provides such care.  The fact that other
organizations fail to admit to the importance of such in-house capabilities
does not change the fact that they do not provide it. For more information,
