I personally had a friend who was interested in
Cryonics-but gave up on the idea because the fees were
just plain out of her budget. I suspect that for
cryonics to _really_ take off, it may have to do so as
part of a package in which cryonics is not just a
"business". I don't think if done on a proper scale,
cryonics is as expensive as existing funeral and death
care arrangements. Even on a modest scale, I can
imagine cryonics as part of a church in with tithing
is practiced(which substantial groups like Mormons
already do).

The difference between cryonics and the subject of
most cults is that a cult actually requires you do no
nothing more than recruit people to go to
meetings where everyone agrees with each other that
they are right and the rest of the world is wrong.

On the other hand cryonics requires you to make
difficult arrangements and spend a fixed amount of
money (not in proportion to the member's 
ability to pay). In many cases, even with CI, the
money required for life insurance is still a large
part of the income of some members. People who see the

logic
of cryonics aren't all middle class.
