I suspect that for cryonics to _really_ take off, it may have to do so as part of a package in which cryonics is not just a "business". I don't think if done on a proper scale, cryonics is as expensive as existing funeral and death care arrangements. Even on a modest scale, I can imagine cryonics as part of a church in with tithing is practiced(which substantial groups like Mormons already do). The difference between cryonics and the subject of most cults is that a cult actually requires you do no nothing more than recruit people to go to meetings where everyone agrees with each other that they are right and the rest of the world is wrong. On the other hand cryonics requires you to make difficult arrangements and spend a fixed amount of money (not in proportion to the member's ability to pay). In many cases, even with CI, the money required for life insurance is still a large part of the income of some members. People who see the logic of cryonics aren't all middle class. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
