Heck, even the Star Trek writers talk about pattern buffers and maintaining
the person's integrity and atoms while in transit, Basie. Obviously if they
move you from one place to another maintaining your pattern and atoms in

coherence, you aren't destroyed. And notice how they don't disassemble
(destroy)
someone and make them up with new atoms at a different location. People have
a pretty good innate idea of what makes them integral as a person, if you

think about it for a bit. The Star Trek writers, lame as they can be, seem to
somehow sense that effect of Qualia through time existence that we all discuss
as being that special thing that makes us "US".

Also special thanks to Robert Ettinger for helping me to think about this in
a clear fashion.
