Does this sort of petty competitiveness actually help things?

CI's website has a rather lengthy attack against Alcor. Does that really
help the field of cryonics, or is it just more petty competitiveness?

Cryonics is still... thirty-plus years after its inception... can a
nascent industry ("The First Immortal"'s predictions not seeming to have
come to pass) afford this sort of infighting?
