Hi everyone!

Basie's piece is very good. Yes, when we talk about identity we're
talking about a problem with a long history. For that matter, is it
just a matter of language or is there something REAL that we're
talking about? I presume that ships, unlike people, don't have any
QE.

To Bob Ettinger again: The fundamental problem with your definition
(as I believe I understand it) is that it makes physical assumptions
which may not be true ie. the overlaps in space and time. Continuity
simply isn't a clear and intuitive idea when we begin to think about
it. And I will point out, if you read it, that in math terms we can
be "continuous" in at least two senses, if not more. Moreover one
of these senses doesn't assume continuity in either space or time.
I'm referring to my math discussion a few days ago, which I put in
[] parentheses. And if you demand it, I'll give you still other
definitions of continuity.

Best wishes and long long life for all,

                    Thomas Donaldson
