Subject: continuity etc.

Thomas Donaldson repeats that "continuity" has a variety of possibilities,
and seemingly intends thereby to cast doubt on my "overlap" criterion of
survival.

I have repeatedly acknowledged that many possibilities exist in conjecture

and that it is premature to attempt or pretend any definitive conclusions. All
I have said is that the criterion of physical overlap is the only one, as
far as I know, that conforms to everything presently known or likely and

requires no radical change in viewpoint--and therefore, on a common sense basis,
is
the best available as a working hypothesis.
