I think they mean pumping the O2 saturated blood backwards through the 
organ. I know it is probably difficult to do for a whole body but it is 
probably practical for an organ such as the brain. It means that your brain 
can be kept alive in a bucket of ice.

to treat gangrene, diabetic open wounds, burns, lung tissue damage...among
others i.e.. you can only get so much oxygen to perfuse into tissue"
