Article in June issue of Scientific American

I was waiting for somebody to discuss the article (and front cover) on suspended
animation in the June issue of Scientific American. Did I miss this discussion?

It seems of great interest, because it describes research that has been going on
for many years on inducing suspended animation in animals (including dogs). The
most promising direction from Cryonics standpoint appears to be the idea that
by putting organs in state of anoxia (practically zero access to oxygen) one can
eliminate or drastically reduce ischemic damage. The research appears to be
targeted towards finding perfusants that mimic oxygen and therefore block
oxygen. It seems to me that the research is close enough to being of use to our
community, but I would like to hear from members who know more than me about
ischemic damage.
