You do find people with arrested aging. You must have seen people that look 
young for their age. The aging process is programmed and integrated in most 
cells. Not a central switch. Thus if the program fails it will fail for a 
particular organ or group of cells.
The biochemistry of cells are about the same during development and aging. 
The same radicals are present. Aging is just another stage of development. 
Programs can be changed.
You won't be immortal if you don't age.
