Subject: Re: Cryonics and Religion

Dave Pizer has unnecessarily used a whole lot of words and strained logic
and to state the obvious, which is: Many people have a way to deal with death
that they believe is better than cryonics. The reverse is also true:

Cryonicists are people who do not believe there is a better way to deal with
death.
That is not a problem or conflict as long as everyone leaves each other alone
to manage their life as they best see fit. It is only a problem when someone
violates the preceding. So, the problem is not what people of faith believe,
but the fact that some of them believe it is ok to force their beliefs upon
others. That is true conflict and something that cryonicists must defend

against. The fact that some people don't want extended lives or peacefully err
in
their way of achieving it is not among my most urgent concerns. My most
urgent concern is the need to continue to develop procedures to make cryonics
work, meaning achieving true suspended animation and finding ways to
satisfactorily revive those already in cryonic biostasis.
