That risk is nearly three hundred thousand times greater than using a
hospital, according to information quoted below. (It is known that seriously
sick people use hospitals and many would die anyway. The compiler of these
figures says he has factored this out.)

where it says that the risk of dying in Canada relative to being killed on a
747 flight is for

*Preventable* medical injury in hospitals 4,085

adverse pharmaceutical drugs 756

natural healthcare and therapeutic products 0.014 (yes, zero point zero one
four )

From which one must conclude that hospitals are very dangerous places only
to be used in a last resort when certain death is the only alternative.
(Would you fly with an airline using aeroplanes more than 300,000 times more
dangerous than a 747? Only if attempting escape from certain death, I would
have thought.). No wonder the "Journal of Gerontology, which is probably the
top journal in the field" doesn't mention this fact -- it is after all a
professional journal. [ no doubt if someone could invent a better hospital
they would -- I am sure that most staff do their best to help as many people
as possible ]

Do you know anyone who has been struck by a meteorite, by the way? Well that
is the only thing that has a lower rate of risk than "natural healthcare
products" according to these pages.
