I've been a member for about 15 years (time flies), and now that my business it taking off, I'm finally ready to devote more of my energies to Alcor. Part of what triggered it was that today, I mentioned to one of my employees that I was going to get my head frozen. She thought it was just the best idea she had ever heard and instantly began the signup process (NOT the reaction I expected). She also tried to convince her boyfriend, mother, and various siblings to sign up, all within hours of our first discussion. Her mother might very well join. So then, of course, I started to think that if she jumped on it, that there were other potential members right here in my own city of about 200k. I would love to try to build up the number of Alcor members here. There is a lot of power in numbers. So I'm now working on a marketting campaign. For my particular situation, I'm thinking a billboard is the way to go. We get a lot of morning traffic down a few select streets. It will take months to properly design the billboard. I also need to establish a website, a phone number, and eventually some office space. So now for my questions: Can I use the Alcor name? I will probably call our organization Oregon Cryo or somthing like that. Our goal will be to sign up people with Alcor. We will not be marking up the price or reselling the services, but just educating people. What I'm wondering is if we can put, "Local Alcor Chapter", or something like that in smaller letters. Once we get a few members here, we will begin some expanded services as an add-on to the standard Alcor membership. It may involve a website, GPS, buddies, cell phones, etc. The goal is to improve the level of awareness about the other members so that we can act quickly in an emergency. We will also be working with local mortuaries, hospitals, doctors, government, airport, etc. And finally, I would like to get together all supplies that we might need, even including a vehicle for transportation. Now I'm pretty sure that this scenario has already been played out in areas like northern California. So I'm looking for some feedback, advice, recommendations, etc. What's the best way for us to handle this? Jordan Sparks Rate This Message: http://www.cryonet.org/cgi-bin/rate.cgi?msg=26666
